Air Mouse
Instantly transform your iPhone or iPod touch into an air mouse, trackpad, and wireless remote for your computer! Sit back and surf the web, browse your photo library or control your music player from the comfort of your couch. Our air mouse uses the built in accelerometer to translate your hand motions into mouse movements on your screen. It can also operate as a trackpad, allowing you to control your computer with a single finger.
ConvertBot
Convertbot is a unit conversion robot. Convert currency, length, mass, time and much more in an exciting new way! Converting numbers will never again be a mundane task. In addition to its innovative interface, our robot is smart enough to convert to and from mixed units. Are you 5 foot 9 inches tall? Other converters require you to convert that to 5.75 ft in your head before being able to enter it. Convertbot allows mixed units like Foot + Inches, Pounds + Ounces, and more!
Evernote
Evernote for iPhone lets you create notes, snap photos, and record voice memos that you can then access any time — from your iPhone, computer, or the web.
Facebook boasts 90 million active users—the company’s iPhone app lets you stay in touch with your little subset.
Flickr
There’s a new native iPhone app for Flickr, created by Yahoo’s mobile team. It’s currently available in English and French in the US, Canada, UK, France, Hong Kong and Singapore Apple iTunes stores. You can take a photo and upload it from the app, view your photostream and activity, and see recent photos from your contacts. There’s also the nifty slideshow that features the “Ken Burns effect”.
FlightControl
Flight Control is a delightful action/strategy game for iPhone and iPod Touch that is as simple as it is wickedly addictive. Touch and drag your aircraft to their landing zones, and avoid mid-air collisions. It sounds easy, but as more and more planes arrive you will need smart strategy, keen eyes and a smooth steady-as-she-goes touch!
GoWalla
Gowalla is a remarkable way to share and discover eateries, coffeehouses, nightlife hotspots, hipster hangouts, retail meccas, famous landmarks, notable architecture, parks, museums and more. Everywhere you go. Share your experiences through Gowalla with your Facebook and Twitter friends. Stamp your passport to earn rewards at the places you visit. Then discover and create new locations anywhere in the world with your iPhone.
iDracula
iDracula – Undead Awakening may not sound like a hit game, but it is! The game made it to the Top Paid Apps list in no time and stayed there for a few weeks. That was when the game first appeared as version 1.0.
Old-fashioned telephony
OK, this one’s not really practical, and most iPhone users probably have never seen a rotary telephone in their own homes. But Rotary Dialer allows you to use a virtual rotary dialer, complete with authentic sounds. It’s 99 cents, has multiple themes for various looks, and has more than 2,000 ratings, averaging 3 stars. The main complaints appear to be that it’s not authentic enough – i.e., it dials too quickly. But can you imagine if it really took as long to dial as a real rotary phone?
Pennies
Pennies helps you keep track of where you are spending your money. Most importantly it helps you remain aware that you are spending money. If you are like me you spend money on little things with out realizing how much you spend…
Photoshop.com Mobile
With an entire section dedicated to photography, the App Store is riddled with free photo-editing apps that promise the moon but crash immediately upon launch. Which is exactly what Adobe’s Photoshop companion app doesn’t do. Photoshop.com Mobile lets you flip or crop images and add effects and filters; you can also store, edit and share photos from wherever you are. It doesn’t change the fact that the iPhone’s camera is underwhelming in low light, but correcting the exposure with Photoshop might just save an otherwise marginal Kodak moment.
SlingPlayer Mobile
TV junkies, rejoice. You can now leave the confines of home — or country — without ever missing an episode of Glee. If you have a Slingbox installed at home, the SlingPlayer Mobile app lets you watch live TV, or whatever you’ve got saved on your DVR, on your iPhone, as long as you’re connected to a wireless network.
SketchBook
There’s a new tool available that’s designed to make life easier for iPhone developers, and its surprisingly low tech. It’s called the iPhone Application Sketch Book and it looks like just the thing to keep all those notes and inspirations about a new app idea all in one place.
Skype
Free Skype-to-Skype calls with the iPhone App. Download the iPhone App and then sign into Skype from any WiFi zone and reach friends and family free with Skype-to-Skype calls.
Spots – the WiFi Director
Spots helps you locate the hotspots nearest you, worldwide. No internet connection needed. No waiting while your iPhone connects with a website. Using its internal database of 230,000+ locations, Spots offers the results you are looking for immediately. This offline feature makes Spots work perfectly on the iPod Touch.
Tumblr
TV junkies, rejoice. You can now leave the confines of home — or country — without ever missing an episode of Glee. If you have a Slingbox installed at home, the SlingPlayer Mobile app lets you watch live TV, or whatever you’ve got saved on your DVR, on your iPhone, as long as you’re connected to a wireless network.
Tweetie 2
Love it or hate it, Twitter is here to stay, so you might as well sign up and arm yourself with the best app available: Tweetie 2. It has been significantly revamped from its original incarnation and now handles multiple Twitter accounts, translates foreign tweets and links Twitter contacts to your address-book contacts.
WeightBot
Whether you are trying to lose (or gain) a few pounds, tracking your weight has never been more fun. Set your goal weight, record your weight at any interval (one weight per day max), view your BMI, and see your progress on a beautiful graph. Weightbot also has a built-in secure password feature to protect your weight from prying eyes. It’s easy to use, surprisingly addicting, and designed for everyone to enjoy. Even if you are not actively dieting, you will love tracking your weight just to use Weightbot.
